We just returned home yesterday from a nice trip to Destin, FL. We spent five nights there with our friends across the street and their two children. Taylor enjoyed the company of other children and Jeremy and I enjoyed having our friends there as well. The weather allowed for us to go to the beach each day, even though it rained everyday! We spent most days going to the beach, the pool, and going out to dinner. Taylor enjoyed the beach and ocean a little more this year than last. She still had some reserves about the sand and water, but she was a little more comfortable.
In the pool area, there was a big pool, hot tub, kid's pool, and a waterfall. the kids enjoyed playing in the waterfall. Taylor learned how to blow bubbles under water and how to turn the faucets on and off.
One night, when it wasn't raining, we decided to go ahead and take our family pictures. Although there was no rain actually falling, it was lightening and thundering while we were on the beach for pictures. The session was short and we only got a few decent pictures out of it.
On our last night out, we played putt-putt (a family tradition). Taylor was thrilled to have her own ball and putter. She would take the ball and drop it a foot or so away from the hole. Many times, she made it in on the first shot! She actually stayed on task most of the time. She did, however, find other things to do along the way!
The day that we left, Taylor and I put on our "Destin" t-shirts and posed for a few quick pictures!
We then said goodbye to the beach for another year. I can't wait to see how Taylor will react next time!
